- Share what we do know, and make referrals as appropriate
- Respectfully empower our advisees to take control of their situation
- Encourage follow through by asking for updates after the fact
Support Diverse Learners
- Show awareness of different learning styles
- Share effective study strategies
- Encourage utilization of campus resources that support holistic success
- Connect advisees with CLASS ambassadors and encourage attendance at OWLS Workshops
Advocate for Students
- Ask open-ended questions that facilitate creative and thoughtful problem solving
- Exemplify and promote confident self-efficacy
- Practice active listening and share unbiased advice
Mentor through Peer Leadership
- Lead authentically and with integrity, ensuring our words match our actions
- Model the benefits of proactivity vs. reactivity whenever possible
- Take initiative when curating and maintaining relationships
- Offer consistent and unconditional support
