No. You must enroll in the course that you were placed into. It is possible to appeal your language placement, but only after the semester starts, and you have attended a couple of classes at the indicated level. At that time, you should consult the professor of that course for information about the appeal process.
If you feel your placement is too low, you must first consult the academic department. In most cases, you will need the permission of the instructor to register for another level.
No, you can certainly pick a different foreign language to study at Wake Forest, but you do need to take the foreign language placement test in the language you studied in high school. If you pick a different foreign language to study at Wake Forest, you should register for the elementary level course (e.g., JPN 101 or SPA 111, etc.).
If your scores are not visible in Workday under External Records, please reach out to the Admissions Office.
If your scores are visible in Workday under External Records but not under Transfer Credit, please reach out to the Office of the University Registrar.
We understand that it can be frustrating not to get your first choice classes, but please do not get discouraged. It is not uncommon for first-year students to find that some classes are already full as all incoming first-years register at the same time. We strongly encourage students to have a few backup courses prepared. Please see this infographic for tips on preparing backup classes.

Some closed classes might open up during the add/drop period, and if not, most classes will be offered again in the future. As a new student, you will have many classes to take, and many options, therefore, we encourage you to explore them.
