Student Assistance Fund - The Dean's Office Student Assistance Fund is designed to assist students with small- scale payments for required course-related expenditures that cause financial hardship or for expenditures necessitated by personal emergencies. Students may apply for such funds (generally in amounts not to exceed $250) by writing a letter describing the situation to Associate Dean for Academic Advising, Perry Patterson. In most cases, a professor or staff letter in support of the request will be required. Email is satisfactory for these submissions. As any funding may affect financial aid, decisions will involve the Financial Aid office, and may take up to two weeks. Requests should be made only in the case of demonstrated financial need.
